Buying a holiday home in another country can be both exciting and daunting at the same time. Before we left the UK we had set up viewing using different agents who took us to all sorts of different accommodations within our planned budget. At times we felt rushed going from one place straight into another at the same time the agent giving us some info on each place and surrounding areas. At that point we felt maybe we had made a mistake in our choice of destination. Our final agent on our visit was Theresa, she had some idea of what we were looking for and had planned an afternoon out showing us around some areas she chose thinking would suit both our requests as this was a joint venture between two cousins. We both had different things that had to meet requirements. In the car going to our first place, she got to know and understand us a lot better listening tentatively to why we needed such requirements, and each and every single place she had taken us to matched what we where looking for plus on the way to each destination she was full of really good and important information each step of the way, Theresa would point out all the local things, show us the closets bus stop to and from the nearer bus station. Theresa took her time in explaining and made sure we understood everything she was saying, while always staying highly professional. Some were close to local beaches and some not so, she made sure we knew how to reach them all using local transport and taxis if need be. We felt really comfortable in her company, very friendly lady but always remembering we are clients but treated us as if had known us for a long time. We hoped during this time we would find the perfect place to work for both of us. After all the viewing was done as we headed back into town I asked her if she could work out a total cost if we were to make an offer which must include everything from buying the property to all the legal fees and taxes ect so we wouldn’t end up with unexpected bills which would take us beyond our fixed budget. Once she dropped us where we asked her to, a short time later she contacted us with a “hypothetical” quote which included everything we would need to pay, taking us to our planned figure. So we immediately set to work to choose between our preferred two and contacted Theresa to go ahead and make an offer on our behalf. We sat nervously waiting back in our accommodation hoping she could work some magic and get the chosen place within our budget as was slightly over to begin with. After a while she contacted us to say it was accepted, we were so so happy and got it at a fantastic price which made it even better. The following morning Theresa picked us up and took us to all the places we needed to go to which included helping us open a new Spanish bank account and the Notary office, and helped us get all the legal side and currency side of things sorted. Theresa is highly professional in what she does, no rushing around from place to place, takes time, listens,making sure we understood every step along the way. We both agree that should any of our family or friends decide to purchase a holiday in Spain, we would truly highly recommend they contact Theresa as their first port off call and I am sure they wouldn’t be disappointed. She made our experience as “newbies” very worth while and relaxed at the same time.
